Charlie Mae’s Soul Food was founded and created by Marcus Moody Jr & Brittany Doheny in August 2019.

The idea came about out of the community asking for more options in the Laveen area. Not only did they want to bring another food option to Laveen as the current owners of Smoothie Run located just right next door. They also wanted a way to preserve the small-town feel of the Laveen community, bring people delicious home-cooked food that he experienced from his childhood. When Marcus thinks of good Soul Food the first thing that comes to his mind is his Grandmother Charlie Mae. Our Commitment will always be “a good cook is a clean cook”
